I’m Joel McCain, owner of Blacksmith Fitness, and I have a passion for teaching people about fitness and performance training, whether that be in person, via correspondence training, or through this blog and the free Q&A on the Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/blacksmithfit. I have been fortunate to correspond and personally work with some of the world’s elite strength and conditioning coaches and will never forget how willing they were to share their knowledge with me as I ascended the ranks to becoming a strength and conditioning coach. In Dave Tate’s words I hope to “live, learn, and pass on” to the best of my ability just as those have done for me. So if you have any questions always feel free to ask! Things are getting busier by the day here at Blacksmith Fitness, but I still try to make sure I answer every question; this won’t last forever, but I promise to do it for as long as I can.

I have been fortunate to be a part of several athletes’ ascension from the amateur ranks to university scholarships, international competition, and beyond. I’ve helped people comeback from surgeries and major injuries, deal with setbacks, and integrate their recovery plans. I’ve watched people completely change their lives through physical training, whether that be stepping on the bodybuilding stage or powerlifting platform for the first time, or finally being proud of the reflection in the mirror, and I’d love to help you too. So if you’d like to get in touch and learn more about training with me, or just to get some questions answered, I’d love to hear from you!
